2,5,6-Trifluoro-4-pyrimidinamine is a fluorinated solvent that has been used extensively in the pharmaceutical industry. It is insoluble in water and is often used as a solvent for ionic compounds. 2,5,6-Trifluoro-4-pyrimidinamine can be prepared by nitration of 2,5,6-trifluoropyrimidine with fuming nitric acid or by diazotization of 4-(2,5,6-trifluoropyrimidinomethyl)benzene with sodium nitrite. This chemical has been studied using X-ray crystallography and hydrofluoric acid to produce an unsymmetrical compound that contains fluoroaromatic groups on both sides of the molecule. The reactivity and solubility of this chemical have been tested via activated amines.
