Descripción

1,1,1-Trifluoro-2,3-epoxypropane is a bioactive molecule that has been shown to inhibit the cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP). It inhibits cholesterol synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase. 1,1,1-Trifluoro-2,3-epoxypropane has also been shown to crosslink proteins and to be a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis. This product is used in asymmetric synthesis methods for the preparation of diastereomeric compounds. This agent is not known to have any significant inorganic properties.
