Trifluoromethanesulfinyl fluoride is a polyatomic molecule that is one of the triflic acid derivatives. It has been shown to have antiviral activity against pandemic covid-19 virus and aminopyrine N-demethylase activity. Trifluoromethanesulfinyl fluoride has also been shown to be an effective inhibitor of the enzyme 1-naphthalenesulfonic acid amidohydrolase, which is involved in the metabolism of nerve growth factor (NGF) and other bioactive molecules. The nmr spectra for this molecule show a proton resonance at 3.4 ppm and two doublets at 4.3 ppm and 8.1 ppm, which are due to the methylene protons on either side of the sulfur atom.
