2,2,3,3-Tetrafluorobutane-1,4-diamine is a fatty acid that has been shown to be a potent 5-HT agonist. It can be used as a sealant in the biomedical field and can be used to coat surfaces for molecular recognition studies. 2,2,3,3-Tetrafluorobutane-1,4-diamine has been shown to bind with calcium ions and have an effect on the surface methodology of various materials. This molecule also has electrochemical properties that are dependent on its redox potentials and cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase activity. It is also able to bind with water molecules.
