4,5,6,7-Tetrafluoro-2-Methyl-1H-Indole is a cyclized form of the aminoalkane homologs of 4,5,6,7-tetrafluoroindole. It is synthesized by an electrochemical reduction of the nitro compound with dimethylformamide as a solvent. The reaction proceeds selectively with this compound over other nitro compounds because it has a higher reduction potential than other nitro compounds. 4,5,6,7-Tetrafluoro-2-Methyl-1H-Indole can be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of various pharmaceutical and agrochemical products.
