1-(4-Trifluoromethylphenyl)-1-propanol is a hydrogen peroxide oxidant that can be used as a synthetic alternative to acetone, sodium hypochlorite, or benzylic alcohols. It has been shown to be efficient at oxidizing amines and other functional groups in organic molecules. 1-(4-Trifluoromethylphenyl)-1-propanol is an excellent oxidant for hydrogen peroxide generation and is suitable for both organic synthesis and analytical applications. This compound has the ability to produce hydrogen peroxide from amines, including ammonia, methylamine, ethylamine, and cyclohexylamine. The reaction also occurs with amino acids such as histidine, lysine, and tryptophan.
