4,4,4-Trifluoro-1-(1-naphthyl)-1,3-butanedione is an immune reaction modifier that that enhances the immune response of animals to antigens. It is a fluorogenic probe used in analytical methods for the detection of collagen and other proteins. 4,4,4-Trifluoro-1-(1-naphthyl)-1,3-butanedione has been shown to bind to monoclonal antibodies and form a ternary complex with particle and camp levels. The fluorescence intensity is proportional to the amount of protein present in the sample. Flow assay techniques have been developed using this compound as a label.
