aacocf3 is a potent inhibitor of the arachidonic acid cascade, which is responsible for inflammation. It inhibits the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes and can be used to treat bowel disease. aacocf3 inhibits the cyclooxygenase pathway by binding to arachidonic acid, preventing its conversion into prostaglandins and leukotrienes. This inhibition also prevents the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines that are released from mast cells, such as TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and IL-8. aacocf3 also has antiinflammatory activity due to its ability to inhibit phospholipase A2 (PLA2).
