1,1,2,2-Tetrafluoroethyl methyl ether (HFC-152a) is a refrigerant that belongs to the group of fluorocarbons. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the human influenza A virus (Covid-19 pandemic). HFC-152a is used as a supplement due to its high boiling point and low toxicity. This chemical is considered to be environmentally safe. In addition, it has been classified as a flammable gas with a vapor pressure of 5.3kPa at 20oC. The environmental risk and health risks associated with this compound are low because it does not react with other substances or produce any toxic or carcinogenic reaction products in the environment or in living organisms.
