Descripción:2-Undecanone is a fatty acid that has been isolated from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties and can inhibit the production of cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin (IL)-1β. 2-Undecanone also inhibits the Toll-like receptor 4 signaling pathway. This compound is an effective inhibitor of fungal growth in vitro, with activity against Candida albicans, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Cryptococcus neoformans, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium chrysogenum, and other fungi. The analytical method for 2-undecanone includes gas chromatography/mass spectrometry using a capillary column and electron impact ionization with chemical ionization at 70 eV.
