It has been found to stimulate the immune system by inducing tumor cell death and inhibiting tumor growth in mice. H-Val-Arg-OH is also able to inhibit the proliferation of human leukocytes and induce their apoptosis, as well as inhibit the proliferation of tumor cells. H-Val-Arg-OH also binds to nucleotides, which may be responsible for its immunomodulatory activity.
