Vinyltri-t-butoxysilane is a synthetic, reactive silicon compound. It has average particle diameters of about 0.1 micrometer and reacts with water to form hydrolysis products. Vinyltri-t-butoxysilane is stable at high temperatures and chemically inert. It can be used as a polymerization initiator for epoxy resins or as an encapsulation agent for peroxides. This product also has hydroxyl groups that are reactive with epoxy or ester compounds, which may be useful in the production of functionalized polymers.
