Descripción:Vestipitant Mesylate is a drug used to treat Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders. It is a prodrug that is converted to rotigotine in vivo. Vestipitant Mesylate has been shown to have a therapeutic effect on depression and symptoms of Parkinson's disease, such as tremors, stiffness, and slowness of movement. Vestipitant Mesylate can be administered orally or by injection. The active form, rotigotine, binds to the dopamine transporter protein in the brain and prevents the reuptake of dopamine. This leads to an increase in dopamine levels and alleviates Parkinsonian symptoms. Rotigotine also binds to cholinergic receptors in the brain, which may account for its antidepressant effects.
