Descripción

Viqualine is a bicyclic heterocycle that has been shown to be an effective treatment for chronic schizophrenia and influenza virus. Viqualine can inhibit the uptake of adenosine, which is an endogenous nucleoside that acts as a neuromodulator in the brain. It also binds to 5-HT7 receptors and inhibits serotonin reuptake. These effects may contribute to its antidepressant properties. Viqualine has been shown to improve clinical response rates in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). Viqualine also affects phosphodiesterase enzymes, which may help explain its pharmacological properties.
