(S)-VANOL is a molecule that has been synthesized from ethyl diazoacetate, thermal expansion, and fatty acid. The structure of (S)-VANOL has been analyzed by using magnetic particles and trifluoroacetic acid. The synthesis of the molecule was achieved through an asymmetric synthesis process involving carbonyl group and sugar residues. The (S) form of Vanol is obtained in a copper complex with aziridination. Hydrogen bonding interactions are present between the carbonyl group and the copper complex.
