O2-Vinyl 1-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)diazen-1-ium-1,2-diolate is a mitochondria targeting reactive oxygen species (ROS) generator that induces mitochondrial membrane potential collapse, leading to cell death. It is used in the treatment of hepatic steatosis and aminotransferase activity. O2-Vinyl 1-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)diazen-1-ium-1,2-diolate is a potent activator of transcriptional factor nuclear factor κB (NFκB), which regulates genes involved in inflammatory response, immune response, and apoptosis.
