Worenine is a natural compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It has been found to be effective against bowel disease, such as inflammatory bowel disease, by inhibiting the production of chemoattractant protein. Worenine is a novel compound that has not been described in the literature before. It was isolated from Astragali Radix and its chemical structure was elucidated using analytical methods. The pharmacokinetics of this compound were also studied in rats and rabbits.
