Información del producto
Methyl 5-bromo-3-iodo-2-methoxybenzenecarboxylate is a salicylanilide. It has been shown to be an active site inhibitor of the enzyme hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD). The HPPD enzyme converts hydroxycinnamic acid, such as caffeic acid, ferulic acid, and p-coumaric acid, into o-quinones in a two step process. Methyl 5-bromo-3-iodo-2-methoxybenzenecarboxylate inhibits this conversion by binding to the active site of HPPD. This binding prevents the formation of an enzyme complex with other proteins that are required for the reaction to occur.
Methyl 5-bromo-3-iodo-2-methoxybenzenecarboxylate also targets crystal structures that are associated with human
