Descripción:m-Xylylene diisocyanate is a chemical compound that is not soluble in water and is an important component of polyurethane foam. m-Xylylene diisocyanate reacts with the hydroxyl groups of fatty acids to produce allyl carbonates, which are then polymerized to form polyurethane foam. The reaction mechanism has been studied using kinetic data and analytical methods. It has been found that the reaction mechanism involves a difluoroacetic acid catalyst, which is activated by light exposure. m-Xylylene diisocyanate can be used as a film-forming agent for substrate coatings or microcapsules.
