Descripción:Zephirol is a benzalkonium chloride that is used in the preservation of biological samples. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Zephirol has also been shown to be an effective preservative in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food products. Zephirol can be used to treat inflammatory bowel disease or other autoimmune diseases by inhibiting the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins, leukotrienes, and histamines. This drug also inhibits the activity of enzymes involved in the synthesis of these mediators. The antimicrobial properties of zephirol are due to its ability to inhibit bacterial growth through binding with nitrogen atoms on cell walls.
