This drug has been shown to be active against a wide range of bacteria, including resistant strains such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium. D-Glucose 6-phosphate, disodium salt also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used as an anti-bacterial agent in the treatment of typhoid fever.
