7-Angeloylretronecine is a product of research that was designed to be an intermedine for retronecine. It is one of the stereoisomers of retrorsine, which is found in the Boraginaceae family. 7-Angeloylretronecine has been shown to inhibit corrosion and electrochemical reactions. It also has an affinity for adsorption on the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The postulated mechanism of action for 7-angeloylretronecine is that it may bind to oxygen molecules with two electrons and one proton, forming a stable peroxide complex.
