Descripción:Chlordimeform is a pesticide that has been used to control insects in agriculture, homes, and industrial settings. It is a contact insecticide that affects the nervous system of insects by binding to the 5-HT2 receptor. Chlordimeform also has a neurotoxic effect on mammals and birds. Chlordimeform is metabolized by plants into chlordecone, which has been shown to have an estrogenic effect in rats. The oral LD50 of chlordimeform in mice is greater than 3 mg/kg, while the injection LD50 is less than 1 mg/kg. Chlordimeform has been reported to cause severe toxicity including death when used with benzalkonium chloride and other adjuvants.
