2-(3-Bromo-2-oxopropyl)isoindoline-1,3-dione is a methyl ester of 2-(3-bromo-2-oxopropyl)isoindoline. It is also known as 2-(2,6-dibromohexyl)-isoindoline. This compound has been used for the bromination of 1,4 dioxane and the synthesis of methyl 4-nitrobenzoate. The acid hydrochloride form has been used in the synthesis of 2-(3,5-dibromophenyl)isoindoline.
