4-Tosylmorpholine is an oxidizing agent that is used to synthesize biomolecules. It reacts with amines and anilines, forming the corresponding morpholines. 4-Tosylmorpholine can also be used to cleave bonds in chlorides, sodium hypochlorite, and aluminium. The reaction time of 4-tosylmorpholine is limited by the photophysical properties of this chemical. This chemical has been shown to react with substrates in a matter of seconds under light exposure, but will require hours in the dark.
