1,2-Bis(chloroacetoxy)ethane is a biodegradable corrosion inhibitor that has been shown to have a synergistic interaction with hydrochloric acid. It is a liquid at room temperature and is soluble in organic solvents such as ethyl acetate and alcohols. 1,2-Bis(chloroacetoxy)ethane can be used in the treatment of fibroblast cells, which are cells found in connective tissue. It also has the ability to react with polyethylene glycols and chloride ions to form an insoluble polymer layer on the surface of materials. This product can be used as a potentiodynamic polarization agent for evaluating the properties of surfaces.
