Descripción

2-(1H-Indol-3-yl)-benzothiazole, or DBTZ, is a compound that was found to have anti-cancer properties in a study on prostate cancer cells. DBTZ has been shown to cause pro-apoptotic effects in the mitochondria of human liver and prostate cancer cells. It has minimal toxicity to healthy cells, but shows cytotoxic effects on tumor cells. In addition, it has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of du145 cells and induce cell death in caco2 cells and tumor xenografts. This activity is mediated by mitochondrial-mediated apoptosis.
