6-Nitro-2-acetaminotoluene (6NAP) is an aromatic compound that has been used as a precursor in the synthesis of other organic compounds. This chemical is an electrophilic species and reacts with electron-deficient, nucleophilic species to form adducts. 6NAP has been shown to react with benzaldehyde to form a nitrated product. 6NAP also forms a cation when reacted with hydroxide. The reaction between 6NAP and acetanilide produces the corresponding anisole analogues.
