Undecylprodigiosin hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the growth of Streptomyces sp., an antibiotic-producing microorganism that causes infectious diseases. The antibiotic activity of undecylprodigiosin hydrochloride is due to its ability to inhibit transcriptional regulation by binding to DNA.
