Descripción

Eichlerianic acid is a natural compound that has been isolated from the fungus "Cordyceps". It is also found in the shorea tree, where it is used as an insecticide. Eichlerianic acid has shown significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells and herpes simplex virus. The cytotoxic activity of this drug may be due to its ability to induce apoptosis by generating peroxide and other reactive oxygen species. This compound can be obtained through chemical transformation of cabraleone, which can be chromatographically purified from "Cordyceps".
