D-Abequose is a mutant sugar that has been shown to inhibit cell growth in vitro. Its crystal structures have revealed high-affinity binding sites for proteins involved in cellular metabolism, making it a promising candidate for further structural analysis. D-Abequose has also been used in cell lines to assess its immunosorbent assay and polymerase chain reaction capabilities. In addition, D-Abequose demonstrates high water solubility and can be purified using high-performance liquid chromatography or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays.
