The compound functions as a cross-linking agent and coating for polyester resins, which are widely used in coatings and adhesives applications. Benzoin-d10 has been shown to be reactive with water and oxygen, so it must be degassed before use. The technique to analyze this compound includes gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, or NMR spectroscopy. This material was coated on a silicon wafer and analyzed using X-ray diffraction to determine its structure at different temperatures.
