Descripción:NSC 87877 is a chemical inhibitor that inhibits the activity of protein kinase C (PKC). It has been shown to inhibit the tyrosine phosphatase, leading to neuronal death. NSC 87877 also has angiogenic properties and can be used for the treatment of some cancers. The PKC inhibitors have been shown to decrease cellular proliferation and induce cell cycle arrest by interfering with signal pathways. This drug may be able to interfere with PKC-mediated signal cascades that regulate cell growth and differentiation, thereby providing a possible therapeutic target for cancer therapy.
