Descripción:3-bromo-1-methyl-1H-indole is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C8H7BrN. It can be prepared by reacting 1,3-dimethylindole with bromine in the presence of potassium carbonate and palladium chloride. 3-Bromo-1-methyl-1H-indole has been used to synthesize tetramers of 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15-(2)naphthacenecarboxylic acid. This compound has also been used as a lithiation reagent for substituted anilines and benzamides.
