N1,N11-Diethylnorspermine tetrahydrochloride is a polyamine analogue that is used as a growth and depilation agent. It binds to polyamines in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells, which inhibits DNA and protein synthesis. N1,N11-Diethylnorspermine tetrahydrochloride also has an agonist effect on mammalian cells by binding to antibodies and stimulating their production. This drug has been shown to be active against human breast cancer cell lines in vitro and can be used for the treatment of other cancers such as prostate cancer.
