It has also been shown to decrease tremorgenic mycotoxins in perennial ryegrass, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cholesterol synthesis. Terpendole C has been found to have neovascular properties and has been shown to prevent eye disorders such as cataracts and retinopathy. It also has cancer-preventing properties, which may be due to its anti-angiogenic effects on tumor cells. This compound is a wild-type strain that inhibits the death protein, and is therefore capable of preventing apoptosis in cells.
