Descripción:Azido-FTY720 is a potent inhibitor of the sphingosine kinase, an enzyme that plays a critical role in tumor growth and progression. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of various cancer cells, including those from Chinese hamsters and humans. Azido-FTY720 also induces apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells. This drug is an analog of FTY720, which is used to treat multiple sclerosis. Azido-FTY720 has been found to be effective against tylosin-resistant tumors and may have potential as a cancer treatment. It can be detected in urine and has shown no significant toxicity in animal studies. Additionally, menthol has been found to enhance the activity of Azido-FTY720 by increasing its solubility and bioavailability.
