2-Chloro-6-ethoxyquinoline-3-carboxaldehyde is a novel anticancer drug that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to inhibit the metabolism of a number of anticancer agents, including coumarin derivatives and quinoline derivatives, which are active in vitro as antifungal agents. 2-Chloro-6-ethoxyquinoline-3-carboxaldehyde also has potent anticancer activity against pancreatic and colon cancers. This compound suppresses suppressor genes, leading to increased expression of proapoptotic proteins such as caspases and amides.
