MT-802 is a small molecule that inhibits the ubiquitin-proteasome system. It has been shown to inhibit tumor xenografts and chronic lymphocytic leukemia in animal models. MT-802 molecule has also shown efficacy in treating autoimmune diseases, such as lupus. The drug works as a covalent inhibitor of polyubiquitin, which is involved in the process of protein degradation by proteasomes. MT-802 binds to polyubiquitin and irreversibly inhibits its function, leading to increased degradation of proteins and inhibition of tumor growth.
