Descripción:Ecopladib (also known as EC-P) is a novel synthetic compound that is a potent metalloprotease inhibitor. This drug is most effective in inhibiting the activity of serine proteases, such as plasmin and cathepsin B. Ecopladib has shown efficacy in animal models of acute renal injury, with its antiinflammatory activity being mediated by its ability to block the production of inflammatory cytokines. This drug also protects against acute kidney injury through its inhibition of the activity of c1-6 alkyl groups.
