Descripción:2-Methylundecane is a boron nitride-based polymer that has been used in chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CI-MS) as an extractant. 2-Methylundecane is an amine extraction agent that can be used to extract fatty acids from test samples. It is also a film-forming polymer that can be used to form pharmaceutical preparations and other products. 2-Methylundecane has been shown to inhibit the formation of cationic surfactants, which are often used in soap formulations for its antibacterial properties. In addition, this compound has been shown to have antifungal activity against Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. 2-Methylundecane is also known as piperonyl butoxide, which is used in insecticides and insect repellents because it inhibits the activity of acetylcholinesterase enzyme in insects.
