• Descripción: Benzothiazole, 2-(methylsulfonyl)- is a chemical with anticancer activity. It is an amatoxin that inhibits the synthesis of RNA and DNA by binding to the enzyme nitro. The reactive benzothiazole moiety can be converted to a reactive amide by reaction with amine groups on proteins or nucleic acids. This compound has been shown to inhibit cellular uptake of cancer cells in xenopus oocytes and has been studied as a potential drug against cervical cancer.
