Nandrolone propionate is a synthetic androgen that is used to treat breast cancer. It binds to the androgen receptor, thereby stimulating the growth of cells. Nandrolone propionate also increases the production of growth factor, which in turn stimulates cell proliferation. This drug has been shown to have synergistic effects with other drugs such as tamoxifen or fulvestrant, which are used in cancer therapy. The use of nandrolone propionate has been shown to reduce vaginal atrophy and dryness associated with menopause. This drug may be administered in an injectable form or through a patch on the skin. Nandrolone propionate is also used at low doses as a male hormone replacement therapy.
