Descripción:1-Heptyn-3-ol is a reactive, terminal alkene that has been found in the tissues of various animals. 1-Heptyn-3-ol has shown to be a potent inhibitor of bacterial growth through its ability to react with dna and other cellular components. 1-Heptyn-3-ol also has regulatory effects on the activation of dehydrogenase and fatty acid synthesis. In addition, 1-heptyn-3-ol shows no activity against type strains of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coli.
