The compound is stable at high temperatures and has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by interfering with their respiration process. 2-(Diethylamino)acetamide also inhibits the production of monocarboxylic acids such as formic acid, acetic acid, and lactic acid in bacteria, which are important for their survival.
