Descripción

Prednisolone tebutate is a synthetic glucocorticoid that is used to treat inflammation and autoimmune diseases. Prednisolone tebutate has anti-inflammatory properties, which are related to its ability to inhibit the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting the activity of phospholipase A2. This drug also has potent anti-inflammatory activities in experimental models for bowel disease and inflammatory bowel disease, as well as in animal models for arthritis. The drug is also used as a topical agent for treatment of skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis.
Prednisolone tebutate is delivered in a polymeric matrix that provides extended release over time, decreasing fluctuations in blood levels.
