2,4-Dimethoxy-6-methylpyrimidine is a synthetic organic compound that is used in the synthesis of other organic compounds. 2,4-Dimethoxy-6-methylpyrimidine has been shown to have an antiproliferative effect on human fibroblasts and tumor cells. It also inhibits the growth of viruses and can inhibit the replication of diploid cells. This molecule has a benzyl group at the 2nd position and a pyrimidine ring at the 4th position. The pyrimidine ring consists of four carbons with six hydrogen atoms and one nitrogen atom.
