Cadmium fluoride (CdF) is a substance that contains both cadmium and fluorine. CdF has been shown to be used in the production of various industrial products such as plastics, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and coatings. Cadmium fluoride can be used as a catalyst for many reactions, including hydrogenation, chlorination, and reduction. CdF has also been shown to be an effective catalyst for polymerization reactions. In addition to its catalytic properties, it has fluorescence properties and light emission at about 350 nm. The thermal expansion coefficient of cadmium fluoride is 6x10-6/K which is lower than that of many other substances. It also has acute toxicities at higher doses.
