2-(3-Methoxy-phenyl)-2-methyl-propionic acid methyl ester is a carboxylic acid derivative with the chemical formula C9H10O4. It is soluble in organic solvents and has a melting point of 126°C. 2-(3-Methoxy-phenyl)-2-methyl-propionic acid methyl ester can be used to synthesize carboxylic acids, esters, and other derivatives by coupling with dicyclohexylamine or palladium catalysis. This compound can also be used to synthesize 3-bromoanisole and 3-(4′,4″-dimethoxybenzoyl)benzoic acid by palladium catalyzed coupling.
