• Descripción: 1-(2-Methylphenyl)-2-sulfanyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-5-one is a cross linking agent that is used in the production of polyurethanes. It is derived from 2,2'-oxydiethanol and can be used as a polymerization catalyst for polyurethane resins. 1-(2-Methylphenyl)-2-sulfanyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-5 -one has been shown to have antibacterial properties against gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae. The antibacterial activity was attributed to its ability to form covalent bonds with carboxylic acid groups on the bacterial cell wall.
